I really enjoyed the storyline of this movie. It is a bit different to other movies but followed the basic storyline of a typical 'monster take over world' movie. The idea of having children as the main characters and trying to discover the secret the U.S Air Force was hiding was brilliant and somewhat unique. It also reminded me of the storyline of Cloverfield. JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg has made an excellent team in the creation of this storyline. The acting of the main characters was not the best. I specifically didn't like how Elle Fanning portrayed Alice. Joel Courtney and Riley Griffiths on the other hand both did an excellent job with their acting and a portrayal of two of the main characters. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the two new actors throughout the movie. The main thing I didn't like with the movie was the filming. The filming itself was terrible and the special thing with all the lights really put me off (not sure what you call it). This type of lighting and filming was a real let down especially when the blue lighting was covering the screen and blocking out the picture. However, the special effects has really supported this movie and they have done an excellent job.
I went in expecting, you know, just another X-men movie, with nothing really exceptional or different happening. What I saw was the best X-Men movie to date. All the actors played their parts well and believably, there was a lot of action in it, and it was just an all around enjoyable movie. There were very few cheesy or useless parts in it.
When you watch this movie you are able to feel each character... their motivations, etc. Whether they are a "good" or "bad" character. In fact, the lines between the good and the bad are a little bit blurred in this movie, which makes it seem more realistic. Different characters have different motivations, which may be beneficial to one group while detrimental to another. Overall, it was a great movie and I hope it does well.
To be very honest this installment of Hangover is reminiscent of its predecessor. It's kind of a tribute to the first part, and both consequently and sadly lacks any kind of creativity. There is hardly anything new in this movie. Phil, Doug and Alan went to Thailand for Stu's wedding, and predictably got drunk and then our story starts. They woke up in a god-forsaken place , and then starts the journey to retrace their previous night's activities to find their friend (This time it's not Doug). The awesome threesome of Phil, Stu and Alan is still great to watch. Phil's charismatic presence and tries of making the situation stable, Stu's hysteria and Alan's brilliant dumbness will still keep you hooked in this one.Though, quite a lot of the scenes and consequently the humor is taken from the part I. Especially the last ending scene. That was way to predictable and one can say a complete rip-off from the predecessor. There's nothing new for the ones who have watched the old 1st part. But there's still some funny one-liners and the movie undeniably enjoyable. Only don't get your hopes too high for this one because of the super 'The Hangover'.
I loved the first Kung Fu Panda as it showed that Dreamworks can tell a great story and rely on the story to carry the movie. The same can be said about this wonderful sequel. Jack Black returns as Po, who must now find inner peace in order to master the next phase of kung fu. In order to do that, Po must find out where he came from and who he is. A new villain from Po's past comes into the picture named Lord Shen, a peacock who wants to take over China. Now it is up to Po and the Furious Five to stop Shen and bring peace to the valley again. The actors from the original who return for this film all do great jobs again. Gary Oldman voices Shen, and is great at making a peacock sound like an evil character. I also enjoyed hearing Michelle Yeoh in this film as she voices a soothsayer who says that Po will defeat Lord Shen. As I said, what works best with this film is how director Jennifer Yuh shows that a good structured story will carry the film and make this sequel well worth watching. The best part of the story is that there are new parts of this film that we did not see in this one and make this film exciting to watch.
This is a sequel you have been waiting for. Finally, you take apart a journey with the pirate we all love and know Captain Jack Sparrow. This movie is not as good as the first, but yet i say this one is better than the other two. It is a action/adventure film filled with good characters and a good plot. It can be Clichéd at times but the worst cliché is the love story which many people found annoying since it has droned on with the other movies. The characters are likable but some can be dull. Capitan Jack Sparrow has not changed one bit and is still the likable person we all know. The film is creative and goes into a story filled with adventure and action. To wrap this up, if your looking for an adventure film just to enjoy, this is it. it's no masterpiece, but it is something worth watching.
My husband and I went to a screening with few expectations because lately the comedies have been awful. We were very pleasantly surprised! The three main characters were developed very well and their relationships were portrayed very believably. Maya and Kristen grew up together and Maya is getting married. A new friend has taken over, which upsets Kristen. She is not in a good place at the time and needs Maya, who is not available like she had been in the past. We haven't laughed out loud so much in a long time, but you do feel Kristen's pain throughout the movie. The bridal salon scene is absolutely hysterical and people were still talking about it on the way out of the movie.
